Meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade with the Head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development (FCDO) (formerly - Office for International Development, DFID)

Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqki Amin met with the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development Ms. Honor Flanagan on March 4, 2021.

During the meeting, Zavqizoda Z.A. exchanged view on the measures taken by the Government of the country to prevent the impact of external threats, specifically the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic in the world and its impact on the national economy.

Furthermore, Zavqizoda Z.A. proposed to increase assistance and support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development for the implementation of the strategic goals and priorities of the Government of Tajikistan and state programs. In its turn, this proposal was supported by Ms. Honor Flanagan.

Following the meeting, the sides expressed their readiness to further expand cooperation to prevent the after-effects of (COVID-19) coronavirus pandemic in the national economy, develop a green economy, assist in modeling and macroeconomic modeling and forecasting, as well as the Medium-Term Development Program of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025, The State Program for the Development of Export in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025 and the Program for the Digital Economy of the Republic of Tajikistan for 2021-2025.
