Bilateral talks between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Ministers of Economy, Infrastructure Development, Labour and Investment in the frames of the Council of Heads of Government (Prime Ministers) of the CIS member states in Minsk

On May 28, 2021, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan took part in a session of the Council of Heads of Government (Prime Ministers) of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) countries headed by the Prime Minister of Tajikistan Qohir Rasulzoda in Minsk, Belarus.

The work of the regular session of the Council began with a meeting of  President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Lukashenko and the Prime Ministers of the CIS member states, and more than 10 important issues were discussed covering various areas of integration, including the strengthening of economic cooperation among the CIS countries, the Medium-term Plan of Joint Action of the CIS countries on preventing the spread of infectious diseases, Agreement on Health Safety in CIS Countries and Agreement on Cooperation in the field of employment of the population of CIS member states.

On the sidelines of the Council session, bilateral negotiations were held by the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavkizoda Z.A. with the Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation M.G. Reshetnikov, Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan B.B. Atamkulov, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of the Republic of Kazakhstan Shapkenov S.Yu., First Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kudratov L. SH. and First Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Republic of Belarus Lobovich A.V.

During the talks, the sides exchanged views on strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade and economy, preventing the impact of external threats, especially the spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic in the world and its impact on the national economies of countries, innovation, digital economy, e-commerce, creation of joint industrial enterprises and the development of foreign trade.

At the end of the session, the sides expressed readiness to further strengthen the work in the mentioned areas and use the existing opportunities.
