Meeting of Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade Vosidiyon Farhod Sadullo with Vice President of the University of Hiroshima, President of the Japanese Evaluation Society, Professor Yoko Ishida

On October 27, 2023, in order to fulfill the order of the Head of the Executive Office of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan dated October 9, 2023, No. 35208 (29-4.1), a meeting was held between the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade and the leadership of relevant ministries and departments with the Vice-President of the University of Hiroshima - President of the Japanese Evaluation Society, Professor Yoko Ishida and his delegation.

Vosidiyon F. S. welcoming the guests, expressed gratitude for the mutually beneficial cooperation in strengthening the intellectual potential of government agencies and developing the country’s infrastructure. It was noted that in accordance with part 5 of paragraph 18 of the Regulations of the National Development Council under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade is the Secretariat of the National Development Council under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, one of its main tasks is to coordinate the implementation of the National Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan period until 2030, medium-term development programs, Sustainable Development Goals together with sectoral and regional programs and strategies.

At the same time, within the framework of the working group of the 13th National Development Council under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, work on monitoring and evaluating the country’s strategic documents and the Sustainable Development Goals was intensified, and training seminars and consultations were held with officials of central and local government bodies with the involvement of specialists from Japan with the support of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

At the meeting, Professor Yoko Ishida made a presentation on the topic “Results and research on monitoring and evaluation in Tajikistan” and discussed issues related to monitoring and evaluation of the country’s strategic planning documents and problems in this direction.

At the end of the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the implementation of the country’s strategic planning documents.
