Meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan with the Regional Director of the UN Coordination Office for Europe and Central Asia
On August 18, 2023, the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin met with the Regional Director of the UN Office for the Coordination of Development Affairs (UNDCO) for Europe and Central Asia, Ms. Gwi-Eop Son.
Zavqizoda Z. A. noted that thanks to the wise policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - the Leader of the Nation, the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, the respected Emomali Rahmon, over the past 5 years, despite the influence of external factors, as a result of the implementation of economic reforms, state programs and the plan of anti-crisis measures towards the implementation of the CIA, Tajikistan has achieved a number of significant achievements.
In particular, during this period, the average economic development was provided at the level of 7.3%, the monetary incomes of the population increased 2.1 times, wages - 1.5 times, pensions - 1.3 times.
At the meeting, the parties discussed bilateral cooperation to facilitate the financing of the country's strategic goals, the full and high-quality implementation of the cooperation framework for sustainable development for 2023-2026, the provision of financial and technical assistance to strengthen the national system for monitoring and evaluating the implementation of strategic planning documents, the development and presentation of a worthy local voluntary explanation.
The parties also discussed preparatory work for the meeting of the National Development Council under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan and the Development Forum of Tajikistan.
Ms. Gwi-Eop Song highly appreciated the achievements of the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and expressed the readiness of the United Nations and its agencies to assist in the implementation of the goals and priorities of the country's development and the implementation of these activities.
