Meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade with the Executive Director of the Global Partnership for Education

On May 1, 2024, as part of the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank group in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a meeting was held between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade/Plenipotentiary Representative of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) from the Republic of Tajikistan, Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin, with the Executive Director of the Global Partnership for Educationby Laura Frigenti.

Zavqizoda Z. A. thanking the Executive Director of the Global Partnership for Education for his contribution to financing projects in the country’s education sector, noted that the development of the education sector is one of the priority areas in the social policy of the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, respected Emomali Rahmon, and significant measures have been implemented in this direction to date. ⁠

It was noted that to finance the educational project of the Islamic Development Bank “Joint project to support the implementation of the National Strategy for the Development of Education of the Republic of Tajikistan” of stage II (total amount of $86 million), the Global Partnership for Education allocated $25 million as a grant. ⁠

Mrs. Laura Frigenti was invited to continue to contribute to the development of the education sector, especially in the construction of educational institutions and improving the quality of education, this proposal was positively accepted on her part.
