Meeting of the Minister of Economic Development and Trade with the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan

On May 14, 2021 in Tashkent, under the eighth session of the Tajik-Uzbek Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation a meeting was held between the Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, Zavqizoda Zavqi Amin and the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Umurzakov Sardor Uktamovich.

 Zavqizoda Z.A. noted that thanks to the wise and far-sighted policy of the leaders of the two countries, the Founder of Peace and National Unity - Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Mirziyoyev Shavkat Miramonovich, relations between the two countries reached a qualitatively new level.

It was noted that Uzbekistan, being one of the main strategic partners of the Republic of Tajikistan, in the first quarter of 2021, the trade turnover between the two countries reached 104 million US dollars and increased compared to the same period of 2020 by 23.1 million US dollars.

During the meeting, which took place in a constructive and friendly atmosphere, the sides agreed to cooperate on priority projects for the development of trade and economic cooperation, on the creation of joint ventures on the territory of free economic zones of the Republic of Tajikistan, as well as exchange experience between the ministries of the two countries in the field of macroeconomic forecasting, electronic trade and trade facilitation.

At the end of the meeting, the sides expressed readiness to further expand mutually beneficial cooperation.
